Ο μετεωρίτης προκάλεσε έντονη ανησυχία στην Κούβα, ωστόσο ευτυχώς δεν υπήρξαν θύματα από την πτώση του. Ωστόσο προκάλεσε υλικές ζημιές αφού έσπασε τζάμια, ενώ ο θόρυβος που προκάλεσε ήταν εκκωφαντικός.
