Pic shows: Stills of the unknown creature.nnA viral video filmed in the seas off the coast of China has shown the moment fishermen captured what they called a "mysterious sea creature".nnThe animal with what seemed like two bulging teeth and a large, long snout had never before been seen in the waters of the East China Sea, and the puzzled fishermen had to turn to local wildlife experts for help.nnThe video now being shared tens of thousands of time on Chinese social media platform Sina Weibo shows the grey sea creature with smooth, glossy skin, which its captors described as being "dolphin-like".nnHowever, the animal found in the sea near Zhoushan City, in East China¿s Zhejiang Province, did not have a fin, and local fishermen did not hide their shock and even fear at seeing the bizarre marine animal for the first time.nnThe animal had apparently been caught in the fishermen¿s large nets and had reportedly already drowned when it floated to the surface and was then spotted by the stunned locals.nnReports said the animal was hauled back to shore and local wildlife experts were called to identify the strange catch.nn"Bo Wu", a Chinese wildlife magazine, said that the animal found near Mount Putuo, an island under the administration of Zhoushan City, was most likely a member of the beaked whale (Ziphiidae) family.nnThe animal was also most likely a young whale, as the species is capable of growing several times larger.nnThe beaked whale is rarely seen in Chinese seas and as a result does not have conservation status.nnThe species is not considered threatened elsewhere in the world either.nn(ends)n
